As a law clerk for the Willamette College of Law (WCL) Family Law Clinic, Rich became familiar with the responsibilities and challenges which arise in the area of family law.

Rich has clerked for one of the largest criminal law firms in Oregon where he wrote briefs for the Oregon Supreme Court, the Oregon Appellate Court, and motions for the Marion County District Court. Prior to that he worked at the Marion County District Attorneys office as a DUII clerk.

Since joining the firm, Rich has been immersed in client representation including preparing memorandums for supervising attorneys, interviewing clients, preparing witnesses for trial, writing motions to the court, and communicating with the OLCC and other government agencies.

ABOUT ME

  • Richard received his J.D. from the Willamette University College of Law and was awarded the Order of the Barristers for excellence and high honor through the art of courtroom advocacy. While in law school, Richard was the Vice President of the Moot Court Executive board, and also held positions such as Vice President of his class. He also was the winner of his sections’ First Year Appellate Competition.
  • Born in Cardiff, Wales (UK), his parents m, his family emigrated to Philadelphia, PA, and later to Los Angeles, CA. He eventually earned his degree in Political Science from the California State University of Long Beach.
  • A former musician, playing several instruments, he still enjoys attending musical concerts, often attending the Oregon Symphony, but also searches out jazz concerts and jam bands. He is a sports fan, has recently taken up photography, and hopes to earn his private pilot license in the near future.
